xTools provides a logical alternative to the basic Windows Command-Line tools by implementing MFC-Bound Versions of Berkeley Systems Utilities released under the GNU License. These Utilities are not bound to libraries such as cygwin.dll or posix.dll and provide all standard functions including text parsing, editing, scripting and linux file-system support in one package.xTools provides an environment that Linux users can use to customize their windows Installation to make it more unix friendly.
Using Industry standard tools like "Windows Installer" users can expect the same high-quality installation reliability provided by these tools.
A Posix-Compatible file layout is delivered within the xTools Directory structure to ensure that scripts and tools are executed properly and behave as expected.
Windows users can access the GNU Utilities and all included executables from the Windows Command Prompt.
